¡Ya sabemos todos que es muy difícil encontrar buenos recursos en castellano!
We all know how hard it is to find high quality resources in Spanish!
Así que ¡unas amigas y yo hemos colaborado para traerles unas recomendaciones! He aquí unos recursos que hemos usado nosotros esta semana que les puedo recomendar. Todos estos recursos tienen un pequeño costo, ¡pero todos van a ahorrarles mucho tiempo, y hacer el otoño aún más divertido!
So some teacher friends and I have collaborated to bring you a few recommendations! Here are a few resources we’ve used this week that I can recommend to you. All of these are available to purchase (all low cost!), and all of them will save you lots of time and make fall even more fun!
Como nosotros seguimos el método Montessori, y muchos de ustedes también, yo voy a notar cómo se alinean estos recursos con los estudios y la teoría Montessori. A veces usamos unos recursos que no son nada Montessori, pero que nos son divertidos y que podemos usar sin comprometer la atmósfera y el entorno Montessori que hemos creado..
Since we follow the Montessori method, and many of you do as well, I’ll also note how each resource aligns with Montessori studies and theory. We do sometimes use resources that are not at all Montessori, but that are fun for us and we can use without compromising the Montessori atmosphere and environment that we’ve created.
Esta vez comparto 5 recursos que puedo recomendar para los de kinder en la escuela tradicional, o de edades 3 y mayor en un entorno Montessori. ¡Los hemos usado y disfrutado!
This time I’m sharing 5 resources that I can recommend for kindergarten in traditional school settings, or for ages 3 and up in Montessori environments.
Subject: SLA (Spanish Language Arts)
What I like about it:
Tiene 12 oraciones mezcladas, y para cada uno hay tarjetas con cada palabra separada y arte que le da pistas a la niña acerca de qué trata; hay una hoja para anotar la oración con opción de recortar y pegarla y escribirla; y una tarjeta con el arte que se puede emparejar con la oración complete. Algunas oraciones son más sencillas que otras. A la Srta. Aventurera le gustó mucho usar las tarjetas para descifrar las palabras y formar una oración que tiene sentido. También quería escribir la oración después, pero no quería recortar y pegar las palabras.
It has 12 scrambled sentences, and for each one there are cards with the individual words and art that helps them decipher the vocabulary; a recording sheet with the options of cutting and pasting the sentence and writing it; and a card with just the art to match with the entire sentence. Some sentences are more difficult than others. Miss Adventuress loved the sentence cards; she read each word and then made them into a sentence that made sense. She also wanted to write her sentence down, but she was not interested in cutting and pasting it.
How it aligns with Montessori:
Para los que pueden leer solo que faltan fluidez, es una actividad divertida. Las tarjetas con una palabra en cada una encajan bien con otras actividades Montessori. La hoja de recortar y pegar la oración puede ser una opción, pero no debe ser un deber. Es una actividad divertida para esta temporada, y si a la niña le interesa, ¡no hay problema en incluirlo como una opción de trabajo! A algunos les gustará escribir la oración formada en su propio librito, e ilustrarlo. Eso también encaja bien con el Montessori.
For those who can read and just don’t read fluently yet, it’s a fun activity. The cards with one word on each fit well with other Montessori activities. The recording sheet with cut and paste work could be an option, but shouldn’t be required. It’s a fun activity for the season, and if the child is interested in it, there’s no problem with including it as an option for work! Some children will also like to write the sentence they built in their own little book, and illustrate it themselves. That also fits well with Montessori.

What I like about it:
Seis libritos que te llevan desde el regreso a clases hasta la Navidad; son sencillos y ayudan con el vocabulario. Perfecto para los lectores principiantes.
Six little books that take you from back to school to Christmas; they are simple and help reinforce vocabulary. Perfect for beginning readers.
How it aligns with Montessori:
No es un recurso Montessori, pero es un recurso divertido que se puede incluir como una opción de trabajo para los niños que empiezan a leer.
Not a Montessori resource, but a fun resource that can be included as a work option for children who are just beginning to read.
Subject: Vocabulary, Reading
What I like about it:
Veinte palabras para poner un nuestra pared de palabras prodigiosas, todas con tema de otoño, sin palabras de Halloween (que no celebramos). El arte es sencillo e ilustra bien las palabras, para ayudar a los lectores principiantes. También tiene tarjetas con el dibujo y la palabra separadas, para poder emparejarlas.
Twenty word wall words, all with a fall theme, and no Halloween words (good for us since we don’t celebrate it). The art is simple and illustrates the words well, which helps beginning readers. There are also cards with the pictures and words separate, for matching.
How it aligns with Montessori:
Un uso más Montessori sería darles las tarjetas con los dibujos y dejar que escriban la palabra con el alfabeto móvil. A la Srta. Aventurera le gustó tener las palabras ya en la pared para poder escribir un poema del otoño. Las tarjetas en la pared se pueden usar como control cuando los niños emparejan los dibujos con las palabras, y así funcionarían como las tarjetas de 3 partes Montessori. No es un recurso Montessori, pero encaja bien cuando lo usamos de esas maneras, y ¡nos gusta mucho!
A more Montessori way of using this would be to give the child the cards with the pictures, and let them build the words using the moveable alphabet. Miss Adventuress liked having the words on the wall already, though, so she could use them to write a fall poem. The word wall cards can also be used as a control for matching the picture and word cards, and used this way, they work like Montessori three-part cards. This isn’t a Montessori resource, but it fits well with our Montessori work when used in these ways, and we are really enjoying it!

What I like about it:
10 juegos de mesa, y 10 tablas de cuatro en fila nos dan muchas opciones para practicar leer palabras. Todos tienen tema del otoño, y nos atraen visualmente.
10 board games and 10 boards for four-in-a-row give us lots of options for practicing reading words. All have cute fall themes, that are visually attractive.
How it aligns with Montessori:
En Montessori, no les pedimos a los niños que lean palabras en voz alta hasta que ya estén leyendo sin problemas. Es un poco difícil usar los juegos sin pedirle a la Srta. Aventurera que lea en voz alta. Pero, puedo escribir una palabra y ella puede encontrarla o avanzar hasta ese espacio, y si ella quiere leerla, puede, o yo puedo leerla por ella. También puede trabajar solita, leyendo palabras y cubriéndolas o avanzando por la senda. ¡Es un recurso divertido para el otoño!
In Montessori, we don’t ask the child to read words out loud until they are reading with confidence. It’s a little more challenging to use these game boards without asking Miss Adventuress to read the words out loud. But, I can write a word, and she can find it on the board, or advance to that space, and then read it if she feels confident, or ask me to read it for her. She can also work on her own, reading the words and covering them with a marker or advancing along the path. It’s a fun fall resource!

What I like about it:
Siete actividades distintas que trabajan sonidos y sílabas, ¡todos con un tema del Día de Acción de Gracias! Hemos usado todos, empezando el año pasado cuando Srta. Aventurera tenía cuatro años. También trae unas hojas de práctica que a ella le gusta hacer a veces.
Seven different activities that work on sounds and syllables, and all with a Thanksgiving theme! We’ve used all of them, beginning last year when Miss Adventuress was four years old. There are also practice pages that she likes to do occasionally.
How it aligns with Montessori:
Estas actividades trabajan las mismas destrezas que los juegos de sonidos que tenemos en el album de lenguaje de la Casa. Se pueden usar para reforzar esos juegos, y todas están diseñadas para uso individuo. Es otra opción de trabajo estacional y divertido para tener en el estante de lenguaje.
These activities work on the same skills as the sound games in the Primary language album. They can be used to reinforce those games, and all are designed to be used independently. It’s another fun seasonal work option to have on the language shelves.
